Biography

Rupert was born in a small village in South East of England. Raised in the cosmopolitan resort city of Brighton & Hove on the south coast in a single parent family. Having originally mapped out his future career as a talented Classical Musician and Composer, he unexpectedly left home at 18, gave up his dream and fell into a career in hospitality.

Later pursuing successful careers in Sales, Security and eventually in the Corporate Management arenas.  He has always been proud that while leaving the path of formal education at 17, he found avenues back to it and gained his professional qualifications and Business Degree while maintaining his fulltime work and other commitments. He also spent time as a part time lecturer in the Adult Education sector, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others.

As with many, the route through life has been fun, hard and circuitous. Having travelled extensively throughout the UK and Europe, for both work and pleasure. Experiencing many rewards as a declared over achiever and the inevitable knock downs when mistakes were made, he returned to his home city by the sea a few years ago.

He has been a friend, a lover, a boss, a colleague, a father, a son, a brother, a married man, a gay man, a shoulder, a confidante, a rock, a rich man, a poor man and sometimes insanely annoying. His passions include people, music, food, travel, politics, education, reading, and enjoying life to the full at every opportunity.

Rupert was randomly diagnosed with a rare Genetic decease called PKD in late 2011 and is now currently in end stage Renal Failure. He recently celebrated being 50 years young. The future is now potentially short and uncertain. So he writes……
